BIOGRAPHY

After several years in the DJ booth at large nightclub events around Sweden and over 200 gigs at prestigious Café Opera in Stockholm seems to imply that he had forgotten how it all began. How wrong one can have.
- I remember my very first paid gig restaurant very well. It was at a pizzeria meeting place at indore for more than 30 mourners. And the salary was in 1500 SEK.
A quite remarkable sum even today, given that I was totally green and only 17 years old. I was probably a good negotiator at the time, "says DJ Niko and laughs.
We meet him at a Thai restaurant. He lives a stone's throw from the interview site.
- Welcome to my second home. Here I eat every day of the week, "he says with a smile.

Restaurant owner greets recognition. Niko order a number 25, sits down and sips a glass of water.

1999 three childhood friends are discussing the purchase of dj equipment. Price discouraging at first, but they decide to work together money. CD, mixer, amplifier and speakers and bought the first step was taken to what is now DJ Niko's successful career.
- There was a lot of money back then but I do not regret my choice, "he recalls.

Development has proceeded at a brisk pace for the man with the penchant for Asian food. In 2001 he started his own DJ business. In 2002 he received its first resident munity at a nightclub in Stockholm. In 2004 he began regularly playing around Stureplan and in 2007 he delivered his first house sets at Café Opera's outdoor seating. More to come.

Today, he belongs to one of Dj-Sweden's strongest brands, and has played with artists such as Joachim Garraud, Yves Larock, Rune RK Albin Myers, Özgur Can, David West, Phatzoo, Lazee, Kate Ryan and Wyclef Jean among others.

And after all the gigs at night clubs to be reckoned with in the kingdom the dark haired swede now looks forward to go back to the studio.
- Yes, to produce music is something I have wanted to pick up and go for then I stopped for a bunch of years ago. I am a creative person and want to do creative things, "he says between mouthfuls.
In February 2010 the first official release arrived, house production Barakus as he did with the producer Kaveman.
The song was immediately signed to the record company PR Records.
- It was great fun to have such a direct response to our song that they contacted us and not vice versa.
Now we concentrate fully on this.

The song is expected be released on Beatport.com soon.

How long will you continue with playing records?

– As long as I think it's funny. I may end next week. I can stop in 20 years. As long as I have fun, I intend to reflect upon.

DJ Niko bout…

... His biggest dj-experience:
- Without doubt, when I was allowed to warm up to the French world star Joachim Garraud at Cafe Opera 2008. For me perhaps the world's best DJ. An unforgettable evening.

... The most remarkable event:
- Hmm, I would say, Spy Bar 2008. I arrived with Cafe Opera nightclub manager Jonas Ghauri and was met by a very strange audience in a very messy dj booth in a very small room. An odd experience.

... The largest audience he has played before:
- Must be when I met my friend Alex Moreno and Bobby Malmlin in a DJ battle that MTV arranged at Fryshuset for 8000 eyes.

... DJ profession's greatest advantages:
- To get well paid for doing something you love is a rare luxury.

... Dj-backs profession:
- Late nights. Uncertain labor. Rnb requests.
